Frequently asked questions:

HOW DO YOU FIT A LITEBITE MOUTHGUARD?
HOW LONG WILL MY LITEBITE LAST?
There are detailed directions on the "Instructions" page of how to fit the Litebite to your mouth, as well as videos. (The second video shows it being fitted easily over braces!) It’s very quick  and very simple. Just read through all of the steps first so that you have in your mind what exactly you’re supposed to do, and then go for it! But do practice—it happens so quickly!
We recommend you replace your Litebite mouth guard once a season or at the very minimum at least once a year. But it all depends on how often you use it and how well you care for it, as with most things. Could be used way longer than a year!
CAN I WEAR A LITEBITE MOUTHGUARD WITH BRACES?
WHAT IF I WANT TO REMOLD MY LITEBITE MOUTHGUARD?
You betcha! Litebite Mouthguards work great with braces! And, unlike other mouthguards, you don’t’ have to use dental wax to fit it to your mouth. (What a pain that is!) You just fit it according to the normal instructions, and they vacuum form to your teeth, braces and all! Click them off, and click them back on. Pretty cool!
Watch our video  on the Instructions page about fitting to braces!
Your Litebite Mouthguard is remoldable. You would just follow the same process as the first time, but leave it int the water a little longer, just until it comes back to the basic original shape. We generally say three times, but I believe five times would be a realistic maximum.

It is probable that some companies vastly exaggerate how many times you can reshape theirs, but I'll only be honest with you about the number of times. You deserve honesty.

MY MOUTH IS SMALL--SHOULD I TRIM THE MOUTHGUARD BEFORE FITTING IT?
DO YOU HAVE A MOUTHGUARD FOR THE LOWER TEETH?
You can trim your Litebite, but if you do, be very careful not to trim too much. Better to wait until after it is formed, and if there's a small part at the back that looks funny, then trim that little bit off.
Some are so bulky that it's difficult to fit them into your mouth. Litebite is not. It is small and comfortable, and you should not feel any need to trim it. If you find that you need to, just use sharp scissors.
Yes, you use the same one that you use for your upper teeth. You'll just have to trim the edge all around a very small amount because as it comes, it is too tall for your bottom teeth. It is a little trickier to fit, only because the natural sucking motion tends to pull upward, so your tongue just becomes more important in the process (firmly pressing it against the back of your lower teeth while sucking), and then it will form as beautifully as it does to the upper teeth.
DOES MY LITEBITE CONTAIN ANY HARSH CHEMICALS?
CAN I WEAR LITEBITE FOR NIGHT GRINDING?
Absolutely, yes!  Although it was neither designed nor developed for this purpose, many people buy it for this purpose, and because it is so light, thin, and comfortable, it has reportedly worked beautifully for them! Once again, it is the same material dental labs use, the same material that the dentist would charge you dearly for.

Litebite is made using dental grade plastic and therefore does not contain any PVC, Latex, BPA, BPS or Phthalates.  This is important to you and to us--Who wants plastics  in their mouth that leech chemicals into your body?! No one. This material is entirely safe.
HOW DO I CLEAN AND CARE FOR MY LITEBITE?
DO YOU MAKE A MOUTHGUARD WITH A TETHER/STRAP?
The Litebite Mouthguard does not come with a tether. It molds so well to  your teeth that it stays on pretty well, and since you can talk, drink, function normally while wearing it, you shouldn't feel the need to constantly remove it, unlike many bulky varieties of mouthguards.

Clean your Litebite with a little mild soap and water, and  keep it in the carry case it comes with. You want your Litebite to be protected against unnecessary germs, dirt, etc., of course!  And keep out of direct sunlight (because—it’s heat. A little is okay, but here in Texas, we know about summer heat!)
